PDU

Protocol Data Units: PDU is the abbreviation of Protocol Data Unit. It contains SDU and PCI. On PDU transmission the upper layer sends its PDU to the lower layer, which interprets this PDU as the SDU of its own PDU.

Pduld

Protocol Data Units identification: Each PDU has a static PDU ID which is used to identify PDUs [14]. On PDU transmission the upper layer sends its PDU to the lower layer, which interprets this PDU as the SDU of its own PDU.

PduR

PDU Router: The module PduR handles distribution of the communication packets (PDUs) between the bus systems and the various BSW modules. In addition, it offers gateway mechanisms for routing IF-PDUs (last-is-best or FIFO) and TP-PDUs (store-and- forward or on-the-fly) between the bus systems.

PiM

Per instance memory: Per instance memory is instantiated for each instance (prototype) of an atomic software component of the RTE. A Data Type instance can be accessed only by the corresponding atomic software component instance (prototype)

PIT

Periodic Interrupt Timer: A switched timer with equal make and equal space periods timing adjustable from over 6 minutes to 38 minutes.

PLL

Phase-locked loop: A phase-locked loop or phase lock loop (PLL) is a control system that generates an output signal whose phase is related to the phase of an input signal. There are several different types; the simplest is an electronic circuit consisting of a variable frequency oscillator and a phase detector in a feedback loop.

PNC

Partial Network Cluster: All ECUs that are part of this cluster will respond to requests of the Cluster.

PNI

Partial Networking Information: Partial Networking is one of the 3 efficient energy management techniques described by AUTOSAR. The concept is to not to switch on ALL the ECUs (called a Global Wake-up ) but to switch only a cluster of ECUs (called a Selective Wake-up) on reception of a CAN message.

Port

Port Driver: The Port driver is responsible for initialization of the entire port structure of the microcontroller.
