Functionality

The master uses sporadic frames to send rarely used information, i.e. sporadic information. This frame is equivalent to an Unconditional Frame, which shares a slot with other unconditional frames. The master transmits sporadic frames as needed. If there is no need to send them, the related slot is empty. The sporadic frame is basically an Event Triggered Frame for the master.

Risk of Collisions

A need to transmit exists if at least one signal of the related unconditional frame has changed. When multiple slaves need to send, there are no collisions, because the master processes the Tx wishes in sequential runs of the Schedule. The sequence is defined in the LDF. It follows the priority of an assigned unconditional frame.
